December: Picking out and decorating the Christmas Tree is ALWAYS eventful. This year dad slipped on ice and almost wiped out at Home Depot. It was a close one. Luckily, there was no hospital visit involved. It was cold. Really Cold.
The lights are always the scary part. Someone (usually Jenny) follows dad around the tree while he stuffs the lights into all the right places. With Jenny still in Taiwan, Daniel stepped in. It can be a high stress job but he survived it.
Our family has a hard time changing tradition. So we can never really eliminate things, we can only add on (But I guess that is what makes traditions traditions right?). The tree with all of the old ornaments (the ones made of clothes pins, yarn and macaroni noddles) went upstairs. The smell was heavenly. How do people ever do fake trees?! It stayed up there through all the Hallmark Movies and the devouring of Christmas treats.
Don't you just love Meg's belly?! So fun telling her all the stories behind the ornaments. I love that she is a part of our family now.
