Brave

Have you watched this music video yet?  It is called Brave by Sara Bareilles.  I discovered it a few days ago and it has been on repeat ever since.  The words and the people make me happy.  So happy.  I thought I'd share me some happy tonight (with it being Monday Eve and all).

1. I love the people in this video.  I want to hang out with them.
2. I love the lyrics of this song.  I want to live by them.

There have been times in my life when I wish I would have said something but I didn't. I let fear or laziness or uncertainty or _____(enter lame excuse here)_______ stop me.  Regret hurts man.

Of course there are times when we should bite our tongue but that is another post for another day.  Nope, this one is about being brave.  About saying the things we want to say in the moment that we want to say them.

I know what you are thinking...that is a whole lot a "I just want to see you be braves."  But I do.  I want to see you be brave and I want to see me be brave.  Why do we hold back?  When we feel something why don't we say something?  I'm talking about the good stuff not the mean stuff.  We hold back.  We stop ourselves from giving complements and connecting and expressing love.  I'm done holding my tongue.  I'm gonna let the words fall out!

 

So this week I am going to see just how big my brave is.
