Two Stars in the Lone Star State (part 3)

March/April: Remember that part on the movie Cars when the sad music comes on and they talk about how everyone forgot about Route 66?   Deja vu in Van Horn.  Everything was tired, boarded up and closed down.  I don't know what happened to that place but it was really sad. 

Poor Maria. 
I wonder how long she worked to open her little dress shop and now:

There were dozens of homes and businesses that looked like this.


The place looked almost totally deserted.



I couldn't help but think about the world being trapped behind those bars...or is it the other way around?  Do you see it?  Is that too philosophical?



How many times have these people had to start over?  Can a new layer of paint really change things?
