We went to the movies, went shopping and went out to eat. Jenny and I both love to read and do a lot of it. Needless to say Barnes and Noble was on our list. Anyone who owns B&N stock should personally thank me.
Not everyone feels comfortable just sitting and reading a book with someone else who is just sitting and reading in the same room. That isn't a problem for us. We spent an evening doing precisely that.
We also went for a drive up the mountain to look at all the leaves changing colors. Isn't Fall just Fantastic?
We also took a trip to the temple.
Oh and did I mention that we got to go to the General Relief Society Broadcast? It was so neat to be there surrounded by 21,000 women and sitting next to my sister. If you would like to check out the messages we heard you can click here and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
The Relief Society is the all women's organization in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To learn more about the Relief Society organization click here.
The Relief Society Declaration:
We are beloved spirit daughters of God,
and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction.
As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion
to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Exemplar.
We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity who:
Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ
through prayer and scripture study.
Seek spiritual strength by following the
promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Dedicate ourselves to strengthening
marriages, families, and homes.
Find nobility in motherhood
and joy in womanhood.
Delight in service and good works.
Love life and learning.
Stand for truth and righteousness.
Sustain the priesthood
as the authority of God on earth.
Rejoice in the blessings of the temple,
understand our divine destiny,
and strive for exaltation.
You just don't hear words like that very often these days. I am so grateful to be a part of something that celebrates and honors womanhood, focuses on service, teaches me who I really am and helps me to be a better person.
